1 cup natural yoghurt
125 g unsalted butter
375 g sugar
3 eggs
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
310 g self-raising flour
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
300 ml thickened cream
250 g strawberries
Madzoonov Gargantag Yoghurt Cake (Armenian Yoghurt Cake) is a traditional Armenian dessert made with natural yoghurt, strawberries and a hint of lemon flavour. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a 22 cm cake tin.
2.Mix yoghurt and butter until creamy.
3.Add sugar, eggs, lemon juice, and zest, mix well.
4.Sift flour and bicarbonate of soda, gradually add to the mix.
5.Pour into the tin and bake for 35 minutes.
6.Let it cool completely before adding whipped cream and strawberries.
