Ingredients

1 cup warm water
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups unbleached flour
2 tablespoons oil ( we used safflower oil )
english mixed spice ( This is optional . We added 1 1/4 teaspoons see Mixed Spice - Traditional Old Fashioned English Pudding Spice )
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
green dyed sugar
green candy sprinkles
green frosting

Instructions

1.In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, salt, flour, mixed spice, oil, and yeast. Knead well until the dough is smooth and elastic.
2.Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes.
3.Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut it into shamrock shapes using a cookie cutter.
4.Place the cut dough on a baking sheet and allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes.
5.Sprinkle green sugar and candy sprinkles on top of the shamrocks.
6.Preheat your oven to 375°F and bake the shamrocks for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
7.Once the shamrocks are cool, frost them with green icing.
