6 1/2 ounces milk ( See prep step # 2 )
5 tablespoons raisins ( chopped if at all lrg )
vegetable oil ( for frying )

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
2.In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cardamom.
3.Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the egg mixture, adding the milk a little at a time to form a thick batter.
4.Stir in the chopped raisins and mix well.
5.Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
6.Using a spoon, shape the batter into small balls and drop them into the hot oil, taking care not to overcrowd the pan.
7.Fry the Love Balls until golden brown on all sides, then drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
8.Serve immediately, dusted with powdered sugar if desired.
