Italian meatballs are a classic dish that has been enjoyed for generations. This recipe, passed down to us by Lora and Mathew Hahn, is good enough to rival any meatball out there. These meatballs are made with a blend of Italian herbs and spices and are simmered in a rich tomato sauce that is perfect over pasta or crusty bread. This is a perfect recipe to prepare on a busy weeknight for the family, or to enjoy with friends with a glass of wine over the weekend.

Instructions

1.Combine all meatball ingredients (except olive oil) in a mixing bowl and mix well.
2.Make small balls from the mixture (around 1.5 inches in diameter).
3.Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook the meatballs over medium heat until browned on all sides.
4.Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside.
5.You can use the same skillet to make the tomato sauce. Add all the tomato sauce ingredients to the skillet and stir frequently.
6.Add meatballs back into the skillet with tomato sauce, cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
7.Serve Italian meatballs with your favorite pasta or slice of crusty bread.
