Ingredients

2 lbs ground lean pork
1 -2 green onion , finely chopped
1 teaspoon fresh ginger , peeled and finely chopped
2 -3 mushrooms , finely chopped ( optional )
2 -4 shrimp , finely chopped ( optional )
2 tablespoons sherry wine or 2 tablespoons rice wine
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
2 teaspoons sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 -4 tablespoons oil ( approximately )
1 1/2 lbs cabbage
1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, combine ground pork, green onion, ginger, mushrooms, shrimp (if using), sherry wine, light soy sauce, sugar, egg, and cornstarch. Mix until well combined.
2.Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Take a small portion of the pork mixture and form into a palm-sized ball, then flatten slightly into a disc shape. Repeat until all the pork mixture has been used.
3.Add the cabbage to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until it has softened slightly. Sprinkle salt over the cabbage and stir well.
4.Place the pork discs on top of the cabbage in the skillet. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes on medium heat.
5.Remove the lid and increase the heat to high. Cook for a few more minutes until the pork discs have browned slightly and the cabbage has become soft.
6.Serve hot and enjoy!
