Ingredients

1 lb boneless sirloin steak , cut diagonally across grain into thin slices
2 bags boil-in-bag long-grain white rice
2 tablespoons dry sherry , divided
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce , divided
1/2 cup beef broth , lower sodium
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon chili-garlic sauce or 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons canola oil , divided
1 tablespoon fresh ginger
2 teaspoons garlic , minced
4 cups broccoli florets , pre-chopped
1/4 cup water
1/3 cup green onion , sliced
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 teaspoon sherry wine
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1.Cook rice according to package instructions.
2.In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon each of sherry and soy sauce, beef broth, cornstarch, hoisin sauce, and chili-garlic sauce or red pepper flakes until smooth. Set aside.
3.Heat a large wok or non-stick skillet over high heat until hot. Add 1 tablespoon of canola oil and swirl to coat.
4.Add the steak and stir-fry until browned, approximately 2-3 minutes. Remove the steak from the wok and set aside.
5.Add the remaining oil to the wok.
6.Add the ginger and garlic, stir-fry for approximately 30 seconds.
7.Add the broccoli, water, and remaining soy sauce, continuously stirring, until the broccoli is tender but still has a crisp bite, approximately 3-5 minutes.
8.Stir in the cooked steak, green onion, and the reserved sauce, stirring continuously until the sauce has thickened, approximately 1-2 minutes.
9.Serve immediately over rice.
