Ingredients

1 teaspoon olive oil
1 small onion , diced
2 -3 garlic cloves , minced
2 cans green lentils , rinsed and drained
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon mustard
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
1 dash Worcestershire sauce ( to taste )
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon Club House `` Lagrille '' vegetable seasoning or 1 tablespoon Mrs . Dash seasoning mix
1 cup frozen peas
2 -3 cups mashed potatoes ( your favorite recipe )
1/3 cup grated cheddar cheese ( optional )
Lentil Shepherd's Pie is a vegetarian version of the classic comfort food dish, Shepherd's Pie. Instead of ground beef or lamb, this recipe uses green lentils as the protein source. The lentils are cooked with onions, garlic, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoning to give them plenty of flavor. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.

8.Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top of the mashed potatoes (if using).
9.Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.
