Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 small red onion
3 garlic cloves
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano ( or 2 t dried )
3/4 lb ground lamb
1/2 lb ground beef
1 cup dry red wine
2 tablespoons lemon juice ( fresh is best )
vegetable cooking spray
salt and pepper

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2.Peel and grate the onion and garlic and mix it with the egg, milk, breadcrumbs, parsley, and oregano.
3.Add the ground lamb and beef, and season generously with salt and pepper.
4.Mix everything together until well combined.
5.Form the mixture into balls, roughly the size of a golf ball.
6.Place the meatballs on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with vegetable cooking spray, and cook in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until browned and fully cooked.
7.In a small saucepan, combine the red wine and lemon juice and heat over medium heat until it starts to bubble.
8.Turn down the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 5-10 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly.
9.Once the meatballs are done, take them out of the oven and transfer them to a serving dish.
10.Drizzle the sauce over the meatballs and serve immediately.
