2 avocados ( optional )
2 dozen corn tortillas ( soft )
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup Mexican crema or 1/4 cup sour cream
1 small garlic clove , minced
3 limes

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, Old Bay seasoning, Mexican oregano, salt, onion powder, chipotle powder, and granulated garlic.
2.Stir in the beer and egg until smooth and free of lumps.
3.In a large skillet, heat 2 inches of oil to 370°F.
4.Dredge the fish strips in the batter, let the excess drip off, and then place in the hot oil.
5.Fry, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
6.In a separate mixing bowl, combine the green cabbage, jalapeno pepper, red radishes, red wine vinegar, and juice from 2 limes. Toss to combine.
7.In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, crema or sour cream, garlic, juice from 1 lime, and remaining lime zest. Refrigerate until ready to use.
8.Warm the corn tortillas in the oven or on a skillet.
9.To assemble, lay each tortilla flat and add a few pieces of fried fish.
10.Top with a generous amount of cabbage slaw and a drizzle of the crema sauce. Garnish with additional lime wedges and sliced avocado (optional). Serve immediately.
