Ingredients

3 tablespoons olive oil
2 cans canned black beans ( undrained )
1 1/2 cups water
1 green bell pepper ( diced , I put all following veggies in the food processor so the kids do n't mind )
3 garlic cloves ( minced )
1 yellow onion ( diced )
2 sazon goya con culantro y achiote ( in the Latin aisle of your local grocer )
1 dash oregano ( to taste )
salt & pepper ( to taste )
1 teaspoon white vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar
Latin Black Beans Habichuelas Negras is a popular Latin dish enjoyed as a staple in many Hispanic cultures. Instructions

1.Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
2.Add the diced onion and sauté until softened.
3.Add the diced green bell pepper and minced garlic, and continue to sauté for 2-3 minutes.
4.Add the two cans of undrained black beans, the water, and the two packets of sazon goya con culantro y achiote, and stir well to combine.
5.Add a dash of oregano, salt and pepper to taste, and stir again.
6.Add in the white vinegar and sugar, mix well.
7.Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for 25 minutes until the beans are tender, stirring occasionally.
