Ingredients

1 kg leg of lamb
4 sprigs thyme
4 sprigs marjoram
4 sprigs rosemary
1/2 teaspoon fennel seed
250 ml buttermilk

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

4.Pour the buttermilk over the lamb, cover the dish with foil, and roast for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until the lamb is tender.
5.Remove the foil from the dish and turn the oven up to 200°C (400°F). Roast for another 15 to 20 minutes until the lamb is golden brown.
