Ingredients

700 g lamb ( we used tiny loin chops )
5 cm fresh gingerroot
2 cloves garlic
2 green chilies ( I used seeds and all )
1/2 cup natural yoghurt
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
3 tablespoons oil
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/4 teaspoon clove
225 g onions , chopped
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder , extra
1/2 teaspoon hot red chili powder
2 medium tomatoes , chopped
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon salt
1 box chopped spinach , defrosted and drained
1 pinch nutmeg , to sprinkle
1 1/2 tablespoons butter ( optional )
Lamb with Spinach no2 (Palak Gosht) is a delicious dish that originates from the Indian sub-continent. Instructions

1.Begin by grinding the ginger, garlic, and green chilies.
2.In a mixing bowl, add the lamb pieces and marinate them with the ginger-garlic-chili paste, yogurt, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well and keep aside for 30 minutes.
3.Heat the oil in a dutch oven, and add the cinnamon stick, cardamom powder, and clove. Saute for a minute.
4.Add the onions and cook until they turn translucent. Add the coriander powder, cumin powder, hot red chili powder, and mix well. Cook for a minute.
5.Add the marinated lamb and cook on medium-high heat for ten minutes, stirring occasionally.
6.Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and salt. Mix well and cook for five minutes, stirring occasionally.
7.Add the defrosted and drained spinach and mix well. Cover and cook for 15 to 20 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
8.In a small pan, melt the butter and sprinkle with nutmeg. Pour this over the cooked Palak Gosht just before serving.
