Ingredients

1 egg
1 packet dry active yeast
1/4 cup war water
1 teaspoon sugar
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil , plus
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 1/4 cups warm milk
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lb fresh coarsely ground lamb , and or 1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion , chopped fine
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
salt
1/4 cup pine nuts , sauteed in butter ( optional )
1/2 cup chopped tomato
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
extra olive oil

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let stand for 5 minutes.
2.Add sugar, 1 cup of flour, salt, olive oil, and milk to the bowl. Beat with a mixer until the mixture is smooth.
3.Gradually add the remaining flour to the mixture and form a dough. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes.
4.Coat the dough with olive oil and cover it. Let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
5.In a skillet, cook the meat over medium heat with onion and spices until the meat is brown. Remove excess liquid and fat from the meat.
6.Preheat the oven to 400°F. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a circle.
7.Spread some meat on top of each dough circle and sprinkle with pine nuts, tomato, and lemon juice.
8.Bake the meat pies in the oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
