1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup almonds , sliced

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2.In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Reserve to use later.
3.In a medium bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy, about 3 minutes.
4.Add instant espresso powder and almond extract. Beat until combined.
5.Slowly mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until dough comes together.
6.Gently fold in the chocolate chips and sliced almonds.
7.Transfer the mixture to a 13x9 inch baking pan.
8.Press the mixture on the bottom of the pan until even.
9.Put the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter on a medium-sized pan over medium heat. Melt the butter.
10.When the butter is melted, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of instant espresso powder.
11.Stir well to combine.
12.Evenly pour the mixture over the Bars in the pan.
13.Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bar has a light golden crust.
14.Take it out of the oven, and let the bars cool completely. Cut into squares and serve as desired.
