Krumkaker is a traditional Norwegian sweet pastry that has been enjoyed for centuries. The word 'Krumkaker' translates to 'crooked cakes' in English, describing the waffle-like structure of these crispy and sweet treats. Krumkaker is a staple of Scandinavian cuisine and is often served during special occasions such as weddings, Christmas, and other celebrations. The pastry is typically filled with whipped cream or jams and jellies, but can also be eaten plain. The traditional cone shape of Krumkaker is created by using a special Krumkaker iron and rolling the freshly baked pastry around a Krumkaker cone-shaped roller. This makes the pastry look like a horn, which adds to the elegance of this unique and delicious dessert.

Instructions

1.In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until well combined.
2.Add eggs and mix until the mixture is fluffy.
3.Add cream, sifted flour, vanilla, and salt to the mixture, and stir until the batter becomes smooth and runny.
4.Preheat Krumkaker iron.
5.Take a spoonful of batter and place it in the center of the Krumkaker iron. Close the lid and hold it for approximately 10-15 seconds until the wafer is golden brown.
6.Quickly remove the wafer from the iron, roll it around a traditional cone-shaped Krumkaker roller and press the edges of the wafer together to create a rolled wafer.
