Ingredients

500 500 g boneless mutton or 500 g beef
2 tablespoons indonesian sweet soy sauce
1 tablespoon shrimp paste ( it 's different with dried shrimp paste or terasi )
3 tablespoons oil , to saute
300 ml water
3 red chili peppers , discard the seed , finely sliced
6 shallots
3 garlic cloves
6 bird chiles
1 teaspoon white pepper
2 medium tomatoes
salt , as desired
Krengsengan Daging is a traditional Indonesian dish that is often served with rice. Instructions

1.Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces and marinate in sweet soy sauce for 30 minutes.
2.Blend shallots, garlic, bird chiles, and white pepper into a fine paste.
3.Heat oil in a pan and add the shrimp paste, sauté the paste until fragrant.
4.Add the ground paste, red chili peppers, and tomatoes, stir well.
5.Add the marinated meat, stir and let it cook for 10 minutes.
6.Add water and salt to taste, stir and let it simmer until the meat is tender for about 40-50 minutes.
