Ingredients

1 lb ground beef ( ground chicken works nicely too )
1 lb potato
2 eggs
1 onion
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 1/2 tablespoons spices , advieh ( can be found at Middle Eastern markets or you can use vegetable or chicken bouillon )
salt and pepper
vegetable oil
breadcrumbs
Kotlet is a popular dish in Persian cuisine. It is a type of cutlet made with mashed potatoes, ground beef, onions, and spices. Kotlets are a staple in many Persian households and are usually served with rice, salad, and yogurt. A typical Kotlet is about the size of a small burger. It is dipped in breadcrumbs and fried until golden brown. Kotlets are easy to make and can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge or freezer for later use.

Instructions

1.Boil the potatoes and mash them in a bowl.
2.In a pan, cook onions until they're golden brown. Set them aside to cool.
3.In the same pan cook ground beef and add turmeric, salt, and pepper.
4.Once meat is cooked, add advieh.
5.Mix the mashed potatoes, cooked onions, and the cooked ground beef together in a bowl.
6.Add eggs to the mixture and stir until everything is well combined.
7.Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes.
8.Make small patties from the mixture (about 3 cm in diameter and 1 cm thick).
9.Preheat some oil in a pan and dip the patties in the breadcrumbs.
10.Fry the patties in the pan until they're golden brown on both sides.
