Kiwi Tararua Biscuits are a traditional food in New Zealand, named after the Tararua mountain range in the lower North Island. These biscuits are a popular snack for trampers and hikers, who need lightweight, filling and easy-to-pack foods for their trips. They are similar to Anzac biscuits, which also contain oats and coconut, but the addition of condensed milk gives them a richer flavor and texture. Kiwi Tararua Biscuits can be enjoyed as a treat at home, or taken on outdoor adventures, where they can provide a welcome source of sustenance and comfort.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2.Beat the butter and sugar together in a bowl until creamy.
3.Add the condensed milk and mix until well combined.
4.In a separate bowl, mix the flour, oats, baking powder and coconut together.
5.Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and stir until well combined.
6.Roll teaspoonfuls of the mixture into balls and place them on a lined baking tray, leaving some space between each one, and flatten slightly.
7.Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.
