Ingredients

1/2 kg ground lean meat
2 1/2 cups burghul smooth cracked wheat , washed
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice ( as desired )
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup vegetable oil , and butter mixture
1/4 cup shortening ( for greasing oven tray ) or 1/4 cup butter ( for greasing oven tray )
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 kg minced meat
1 cup shortening or 1 cup butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1 dash black pepper
1 cup fried pine nuts
Kibbi Bil Sanieh (Baked Kibbi) is a popular Middle Eastern dish that is hearty and flavorful. It is made from ground meat, mostly beef or lamb, and burghul (cracked wheat), which gives it a distinctive texture. Instructions

1.Soak the burghul in warm water for 15 minutes or until softened. Drain and squeeze out any excess water.
2.Add the ground lean meat, 1/2 cup finely chopped onion, allspice, cinnamon and salt to a food processor and blend until smooth.
3.In a separate bowl, mix together the burghul, 1 cup finely chopped onion, minced meat, shortening or butter, salt, allspice, and black pepper until well combined.
4.Preheat the oven to 180°C.
5.Grease the bottom of an oven tray with shortening or butter.
6.Spread 1/2 of the kibbi mixture over the bottom of the prepared oven tray.
7.Add a layer of fried pine nuts over the kibbi mixture.
8.Add the remaining kibbi evenly over the pine nuts and smooth the surface with wet hands.
9.Cut the surface of the kibbi diagonally in diamond shapes. Place a small piece of the vegetable oil and butter mixture on each diamond shape.
10.Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until the kibbi is cooked through and the surface is golden brown.
11.Serve hot with a side salad.
