1/2 lb lean beef or 1/2 lb lamb
2 tablespoons butter , divided
1 small onion , chopped
1/2 cup pine nuts
1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup butter , melted
1/2 cup water

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2.Heat one tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

4.Remove the skillet from heat and set aside.
5.Take the kibbee mixture and spread half on the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
6.Spread the onion and pine nut mixture evenly on top of the kibbee mixture in the baking dish.
7.Spread the remaining kibbee mixture on top of the onion and pine nut layer in the baking dish.
8.Mix together the ketchup and melted butter in a small bowl. Spread this mixture over the top of the kibbee layer in the baking dish.
9.Pour the 1/2 cup of water into the baking dish. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until cooked through.
