1/2 cup semolina flour

1 tablespoon white sugar
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 egg , separated
1 cup lukewarm milk
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour , or more as needed
1 teaspoon water

Instructions

1.In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of semolina flour, 2 tablespoons of semolina flour, 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds, 1 tablespoon of white sugar, 1 teaspoon of active dry yeast, and 3/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix well.
2.Add 1/4 cup of vegetable oil, 1 egg, and 1 egg yolk. Reserve the egg white. Mix well.
3.Add 1 cup of lukewarm milk to the mixture while stirring until smooth.
4.Gradually add 2 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
5.Form the dough into a ball and cover it with a damp towel. Let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
6.Preheat the oven to 450F.
7.Meanwhile, combine the reserved egg white with 1 teaspoon of water and brush the mixture on a baking sheet.
8.Form the dough into a round shape and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Use a sharp knife to make deep marks on the surface in a diamond pattern.
9.Sprinkle the remaining sesame seeds on top of the dough.
10.Bake the bread for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
