Ingredients

1 1/2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey

1 pound skinless , boneless chicken thighs , cut into bite-sized pieces
1 egg
1 cup panko bread crumbs
vegetable oil for frying
Sauce :
1/2 cup Japanese mayonnaise
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons mirin ( Japanese sweet wine )
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce

Instructions

1.In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger.
2.Add chicken thighs and mix well to coat. Let marinate for at least 10 minutes.
3.In a separate bowl, whisk the egg.
4.In another bowl, add panko bread crumbs.
5.Dip each chicken piece in the egg, then roll in panko bread crumbs.
6.In a pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (180°C).
7.Add chicken pieces to the hot oil and cook until crispy and golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
8.In a small bowl, whisk together Japanese mayo, honey, Dijon mustard, mirin, and soy sauce to make the sauce.
9.Serve Karaage hot with the Honey Mayoster sauce on the side.
