Ingredients

Vegetable oil
1/4 cup favorite barbecue seasoning rub
Handful hickory or apple wood chips for smoking , soaked in water and drained ( optional )
Sauce :
1 bottle ketchup
1 cup honey
1 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup light molasses
1 tablespoon chili seasoning blend
2 teaspoons hickory liquid smoke
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
Kansas City Style St. Louis Ribs are a popular dish, famous for its sticky, smoky and savory taste. It’s said that the recipe dates back to the early 1900s when barbecue pits were beginning to pop up throughout the city. The ribs are coated with a special barbecue seasoning rub and smoked for several hours, then basted with tangy sauce. The result is a tender, juicy, and flavorful meat with a pleasant smoky aroma. Instructions

1.Preheat your grill or smoker to 225°F to 250°F (107°C to 121°C).
2.Brush the ribs with some vegetable oil and then rub with your favorite barbecue seasoning.
3.Place the ribs in your smoker or grill and smoke for around 4 to 5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
4.In a saucepan, mix together the ketchup, honey, white vinegar, water, molasses, chili seasoning blend, liquid smoke, dry mustard, and allspice. Cook over medium heat for around 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
5.Brush the sauce over the ribs and continue smoking for another 30 minutes.
6.Once done, remove the ribs from the smoker or grill and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving.
