1 cup warm milk

Kalacs is a traditional Hungarian sweet bread that is made from flour, milk, eggs, yeast, sugar, and butter. Instructions

1.In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, 1 cup flour, and 1 tsp sugar.
2.Let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes, until bubbles appear.
3.In a separate bowl, beat eggs and butter, and then add sour cream, 2 tsp salt, and 1/4 cup sugar.
4.Add the milk to the egg mixture and then slowly pour it into the yeast mixture.
5.Add flour, one cup at a time, to the mixture and knead well until dough is formed.
6.Cover the dough and leave to rest for 2-3 hours until it doubles in size.
7.Divide the dough into portions and twist them into braids.
8.Let the braided dough sit for another 20 minutes.
9.Preheat the oven to 375F (190C).
10.Brush the top of each braided dough with beaten egg.
11.Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until brown.
