Ingredients

200 g black chickpeas ( kala chana )
1 onion ( chopped )
10 g garlic ( cloves )
10 g ginger ( sliced )
salt
red pepper
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
2 tomatoes ( cubed )
2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons coriander leaves ( chopped )

Instructions

1.Soak the black chickpeas in water and leave them for eight hours.
2.Once soaked, boil the chickpeas in water for 20 minutes or until tender.
3.Add oil in a frying pan and fry ginger, garlic and onions till they turn brown. Add salt, red pepper, turmeric and coriander powders and saute for 2 minutes.
4.Add cubed tomatoes and cook for a few minutes or until the tomatoes turn soft.
5.Add the boiled chickpeas to the pan and stir well.
6.Cook for 10-12 minutes and garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
