Ingredients

25 small Thai red chili peppers
15 arbol chilies , dried
8 garlic cloves , chopped
1 tablespoon fresh turmeric , chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon shrimp paste
1 cup pineapple ( sour slightly unripe )
1 cup sour papaya
1 1/2 cups fresh white fish , cut into bite sized pieces
1 tablespoon fish sauce ( may add more )
4 limes , halved ( may add less )
1 tablespoon palm sugar ( may add more ) or 1 tablespoon brown sugar ( may add more )
Kaeng Som is a sour Thai curry that originates from the southern part of Thailand. The dish is perfect for people who enjoy tangy and flavorful curries. Instructions

1.Soak the dried arbol chilies in boiling water for 10 minutes and keep it aside.
2.In a grinder, mix the red Thai chilies, garlic, turmeric, salt and shrimp paste and grind them to a smooth paste.
3.Add the soaked arbol chili into the paste and grind to a fine consistency.
4.In a large pot, add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
5.Add the ground paste and simmer on medium heat for about 5 minutes until it becomes fragrant.
6.Add the sour pineapple and sour papaya to the pot and simmer for about 10 minutes until softened.
7.Add the bite-sized fish chunks to the pot and cook until just done.
8.In the end, add fish sauce, lime juice, and palm sugar as per your taste.
9.Serve hot with steamed white rice.
