3 -4 lbs chicken ( bone in )
2 cups onions ( diced )
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups flour ( reserve 2 tablespoons )
5 tablespoons sweet Hungarian paprika
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups chicken stock
1 bay leaf
1 lb spaetzle dumplings ( frozen )
salt and pepper

Instructions

1.Season chicken with salt and pepper.
2.In a large pot, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
3.Add the onions and cook until softened.
4.Add chicken to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.
5.Add 4 tablespoons of paprika to the pot and stir to fully cover the chicken in the paprika.
6.Add chicken stock and bay leaf to the pot and bring to a boil.
7.Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer until chicken is fully cooked.
8.In a separate pot, cook spaetzle according to the package instructions.
9.Remove the bay leaf from the chicken and add 2 tablespoons of flour to the pot to thicken the sauce.
10.Remove the pot from heat and stir in sour cream.
11.Serve the chicken and sauce over a bed of spaetzle dumplings.
