Instructions

1.Heat milk in a saucepan until warm
2.Combine yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a bowl
3.Add warm milk and let sit for 5 minutes
4.Beat egg yolks with remaining sugar and add to yeast mixture
5.Add flour, shortening, and salt to mixture and knead until smooth
6.Cover and let rise for 1 hour
7.Preheat oven to 375°F
8.Roll dough out on floured surface
9.Brush with melted butter
10.Sprinkle brown sugar and nuts over butter
11.Roll up dough and place on greased baking sheet
12.Brush with beaten egg white
13.Bake for 25-30 minutes
14.Mix butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough heavy cream to make a spreadable frosting
15.Frost the kringle when it is cool enough to handle
