Ingredients

100 g margarine
180 g sugar ( I halve it as some apples are sweet )
1 egg
250 g flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
15 ml milk
4 apples , peeled , cored and cut into wedges

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
2.In a large bowl, cream together the margarine and sugar.

6.Add milk to the mixture to make a batter.
7.Pour 1/2 of the batter into the greased cake pan.

9.Pour the remaining batter over the apples.
10.Arrange remaining apple wedges on top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar to taste.
11.Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
