25 peppercorns
16 whole cloves
3 tablespoons flour
1 cup beef broth
water , as needed ( optional )
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley , divided
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1/3 cup red wine
1 tablespoon olive oil , or to taste
3/4 cup sliced mushrooms
Bordelaise sauce is a classic French sauce that is traditionally served with red meat, such as steak or roast beef. Instructions

1.In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
2.Add onion, carrots, celery, peppercorns, and cloves. Cook until onion is tender.
3.Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir.
4.Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
5.Add water if needed to thin the sauce.
6.Add 1 tablespoon of parsley and season with salt and pepper.
