Ingredients

3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 cups sifted enriched flour
1 compressed yeast cake
4 tablespoons water
1/4 cup melted shortening

prepared icing ( if desired of course )

Instructions

1.Scald milk by heating in a saucepan over low heat until small bubbles start to form around the edges of the pan.

7.Roll the dough into a sheet on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness.
8.Cut the dough with a round cutter (about 3 inches in diameter).
9.Put a teaspoon of marmalade or jam in the center of each circle.
10.Fold the circles into triangular rolls, ensure they are well sealed.
11.Allow the dough to rise again for about 1 hour.
12.Bake in an oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes.
13.Ice if desired.
