Ingredients

1 pork leg
6 medium onions
6 medium potatoes
6 medium granny smith apples
10 button mushrooms ( halved )
2 medium tomatoes , in slices
5 -6 cloves
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups white wine ( sweetish )
1 whole cinnamon stick
4 cups cooked rice , seperately ( flavoured if desired )
1 liter stock ( made up of 4 chicken cubes , 2 beef cubes and salt , pepper and 2 tsp of sugar according to taste )
Ivor's Potjiekos is a traditional South African stew that is made in a three-legged potjie pot over an open fire or stove. This recipe is a twist on the traditional version and includes apples and cinnamon for added sweetness and flavor. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 300°F.
2.Cut the onions and potatoes into slices. Cut the apples into quarters and remove the cores.
3.In a large potjie pot, layer the onions, potatoes, and apples.
4.Top the layers with the mushrooms, tomatoes, and cloves.
5.Cut the pork leg into large chunks and place on top of the vegetables.
6.Add the butter, white wine, and cinnamon stick on top of the pork.
7.Pour in enough stock to cover the vegetables and pork completely.
8.Cover the pot with a lid and cook over medium-low heat on the stove for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
9.Serve the potjiekos with cooked rice on the side.
