PROS

Italian subs (hoagies or submarine sandwiches) are a quick and easy lunch or dinner option that everyone will love.

They’re fully customizable, so you can easily swap in your favorite meats, cheeses, and dressings to suit your tastes.

CONS

These subs are high in calories, fat, and sodium, so they should be enjoyed in moderation as part of a balanced diet.

They’re also not the most portable food, so they may not be the best option for lunch on the go.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

Italian subs can be a good source of protein and calcium if you choose lean meats and low-fat cheese.
The vegetables and herbs in the Italian dressing add some vitamins and minerals as well.
However, due to the high sodium content, it’s important to balance your intake of these subs with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to help keep your blood pressure in check.
