Ingredients

1 lb frozen pizza dough , defrosted
1/2 - 3/4 lb Italian sausage
1 green pepper , 1/4 inch wide slices
1 medium onion , 1/4 inch wide slices
italian seasoning
1 - 1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
2 -3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
pizza sauce ( optional )

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
2.Roll out the defrosted pizza dough into a large rectangle on top of a sheet of parchment paper.
3.Sauté the Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Add green pepper and onion slices to the pan, and continue cooking until veggies are tender.
4.Sprinkle the pizza dough with a layer of Italian seasoning.

6.Carefully roll the pizza dough into a log shape, starting at the longer side.
7.Pinch the seam and ends of the roll to seal the edges.
8.Place the Stromboli on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, seam-side down. Brush the top with beaten egg wash.
9.Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and crispy all over.
10.Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with pizza sauce on the side (optional).
