Ingredients

1 can tomato sauce
2 cups water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

1.Rinse and drain rice thoroughly in cold water.
2.In a 6 to 8 quart Dutch oven, sauté garlic in olive oil or bacon drippings until light brown.
3.Remove garlic and discard.
4.Add ground beef or pork, onion, sage, Italian seasoning, basil, salt, pepper to the pot. Cook until meat is browned, drain oil.
5.Stir in tomato sauce, water, sugar and rice to the pot.
6.Bring the mixture to a boil.
7.Reduce heat and cover the pot.
8.Allow it simmer for 18-20 minutes.
9.Just before serving, stir and sprinkle grated parmesan cheese in each serving.
