Ingredients

1 lb ground chuck
1 lb ground lamb
1 Italian sausage
3 pieces rye bread
1/2 cup red wine
1 egg ( large } )
1 sweet red pepper
1 sweet onion
4 tablespoons basil ( chopped Fresh } )
2 tablespoons oregano ( chopped Fresh )
2 teaspoons thyme ( fresh )
3 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon garlic salt
2 teaspoons pepper
1 can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 cups parmesan cheese ( grated )
This Italian meatloaf is the perfect twist to the classic beef meatloaf that we all grew up eating. Made with a mixture of ground chuck, lamb, and Italian sausage, this recipe brings a unique and exciting flavor profile to an old favorite. The addition of sweet red pepper, onion, and fresh herbs give the dish a fresh and zesty taste that will leave your tastebuds wanting more. Instructions

1.Soak 3 slices of rye bread in a small bowl of red wine for 10 minutes, then mash them up with a fork.
2.In a large mixing bowl, mix the ground chuck, ground lamb, Italian sausage, onion, chopped basil, chopped oregano, thyme, garlic salt, black pepper, and the mashed rye bread mixture.
3.Preheat oven to 400F. Grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
4.Press the meat mixture into the greased loaf pan and bake for 30 minutes.
5.After 30 minutes, pour a can of tomato sauce over the top of the meat and bake for another 30 minutes.
6.Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the top of the meat and return it to the oven for a final 10 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through.
