13.Heat 2 cups of milk and fresh lemon peel, whisk together egg yolks, and sugar until pale and thick.
14.Gradually whisk some of the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture. Pour the egg mixture back into the pan with the remaining hot milk.
15.Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a sieve.
16.Mix in the espresso coffee and let cool.
17.Whisk the heavy cream and fold into the coffee mixture.
18.Pour into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer's instructions.
