2 cups flour
3 tablespoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
oil , I use peanut oil ( for frying )
Indian Fried Biscuits, famously known as 'Puri' in India, are one of the staple breakfast items across different regions of India. They are often kids' favourite snack item, generally served with flavoured potato curries (also known as Aloo ki sabzi) or even a simple mix of spices and gram flour (Besan Ki Sabzi). It can be enjoyed as a snack or an appetizer or a great accompaniment with any main course. In the different parts of India, the name and style of serving may vary, but it genuinely unites the palate of the Indian subcontinent with its delicious taste.

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
2.Add milk to the dry mixture and knead together until the dough is formed.
3.Set aside the dough for 10 minutes to rest.
4.In a deep-bottomed skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
5.Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into a ball shape.
6.Flatten each ball using your palm and shape it into a small circular or oval shape.
7.Gently put each flattened piece into the hot oil and fry them until golden brown on both sides.
8.Once done, remove the biscuits from the skillet, and place them on a kitchen paper towel to drain off excess oil. Serve them hot.
