Indian Almond Koftas are meatballs made from ground lamb or chicken mixed with aromatic spices and served with a yogurt sauce. This dish is popular in India and other South Asian countries and is usually eaten as a main meal. The koftas are soft and tender, and the yogurt sauce adds a tangy flavor to the dish. This recipe also incorporates toasted almond slices, which give the koftas a crunchy texture and nutty flavor. Indian Almond Koftas are perfect for a cozy Indian-themed dinner party or a satisfying weeknight meal.

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, grated gingerroot, finely chopped green chili, ground coriander, curry powder, chicken stock cube, and salt. Mix well, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to marinate.
2.In a blender, mix the plain yogurt with dried powdered milk and sugar until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for later.
3.Preheat the oven to 375°F. Spread the sliced almonds on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for 4-5 minutes until they are lightly browned. Remove from the oven and let them cool.
4.In a deep frying pan, heat the oil on medium heat. Fry the meatballs for 6-8 minutes, turning them occasionally, until they are cooked through and golden on all sides. Remove the meatballs from the frying pan and place them on paper towels to drain off excess oil.
5.In a saucepan, heat the yogurt mixture on medium-high heat until it comes to a boil. Remove from the heat and stir in the chili powder.
6.On a serving dish, arrange the toasted sliced almonds and place the meatballs on top. Serve with the hot yogurt sauce on the side. Enjoy!
