Ingredients

2 heads cabbage
4 -5 lbs ground boneless pork shoulder
8 -10 garlic cloves , chopped
2 cups uncooked long grain white rice
2 tablespoons sweet Hungarian paprika
salt
pepper
1 cup hot water
4 ham hocks , cut in half
32 ounces sauerkraut , rinsed
16 ounces sour cream ( to garnish )
Hungarian Cabbage Rolls, also known as Töltött Káposzta, is a traditional Hungarian dish with a delicious twist. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 325°F
2.Boil the whole cabbage heads until the outer leaves fall off, cool and remove the leaves.
3.Mix together the meat, rice, garlic, salt, and pepper.
4.Add paprika and hot water to create a paste, and add to meat mixture.
5.Roll into 3-inch meatballs and separate into eight equal batches.
6.Using each separate batch, place the meat mixture in the middle of each cabbage leaf and roll them up tightly.
7.Cut the ham hocks in half, layer them in a deep baking pan, and place the sauerkraut over the ham hocks.
8.Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down on top of the sauerkraut.
9.Cover with water until the rolls are completely submerged.
10.Cover tightly with foil and bake for approximately 3 hours until the cabbage rolls become tender and soft.
11.Serve hot with sour cream garnish.
