Ingredients

1 egg
1/4 cup nonfat milk
1 teaspoon soy oil ( or use sunflower , safflower or corn oil )
8 slices whole wheat bread
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
4 lettuce leaves
4 slices roast beef
mustard pickle
1 tomatoes ( thinly sliced )
2 mushrooms ( thinly sliced )
2 bananas ( sliced )
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons cottage cheese or 2 tablespoons Quark
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon , to sprinkle on top
Hot Grilled Savoury or Sweet Sandwiches are warm and delicious take on the classic sandwich recipe. The recipe is very versatile, allowing for an unlimited number of ingredient variations. The recipe can be transformed into a savoury or sweet version depending on your preference. The savoury version is filled with roast beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and mushrooms, while the sweet version is filled with bananas, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cottage cheese. Instructions

1.In a small bowl, beat the egg and nonfat milk together.
2.Preheat a skillet over medium heat with soy oil.
3.Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture, coating both sides.
4.Sprinkle sesame seeds on one side of each slice.
5.Grill the bread, seed side down, for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.
6.Top four slices with lettuce, roast beef, mustard pickle, tomato and mushroom.
7.Cover with remaining bread slices, seed side up.
8.For Sweet Sandwiches; in a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread the cottage cheese or quark on two of the slices of bread and sprinkle the cinnamon mixture over the top. Place the banana slices on top and cover with the remaining two slices of bread.
9.Place the sandwiches in a nonstick skillet over medium heat and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until heated through.
