Ingredients

4 -5 large red potatoes
3 slices bacon , chopped
1 small onion , finely chopped
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
4 knockwurst or 4 bratwursts
2 tablespoons parsley , chopped
Hot German Potatoes and Knockwurst is a traditional German dish that is commonly enjoyed at Oktoberfest celebrations as well as family gatherings. The dish is made up of cubed red potatoes that are cooked with bacon, onion and a mixture of spices, then served with grilled knockwurst or bratwurst. Instructions

1.Clean and scrub the potatoes of any dirt that may be present, cut them into bite-size pieces and set aside in a bowl.
2.In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the chopped bacon until crisp.
3.Add the finely chopped onion to the skillet and stir well to combine with the bacon, cooking them together for another minute or two until the onion becomes translucent.
4.Sprinkle the all-purpose flour, sugar, dry mustard, salt and pepper over the bacon-onion mixture and stir well to combine, letting it cook for another minute or so.
5.Pour the white wine vinegar and beef broth into the skillet, stirring well to combine all the ingredients together.
6.Add the celery seed and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has thickened slightly, this should take about 5-7 minutes.
7.While the mixture cooks, preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
8.Grill your knockwurst or bratwurst on the preheated grill for 4-5 minutes per side or until they are nicely browned.
9.When the sausage links are done, transfer them to a serving platter and keep them warm while you finish cooking the potatoes.
10.Add the pre-cooked potatoes to the skillet, stirring them well to coat with the bacon-onion mixture and continue cooking until the potatoes are cooked through and nicely browned, this should take about 10-15 minutes on medium heat.
11.Once the potatoes are done, transfer them to the serving platter with the sausages, sprinkle the chopped parsley on top, and serve hot.
