Hong Kong Fortune Cookies are the Oriental version of cookies, originated in California during the Gold Rush era. They are a common dessert in Chinese cuisine and are served mostly in Chinese restaurants. These cookies come in various flavors, but the most common one is a plain vanilla flavor with a thin paper fortune inside. The fortune tells your future, or sometimes serves as playful advice, riddles, or jokes. Serve them after dinner as a snack with green tea. Have fun creating your own unique messages with your family or friends.
