Ingredients

600 g pork belly ( there must be some fat with the meat but if less fat is preferred , then use pork fillet though it mi )
1/2 cup fine sugar
4 tablespoons light soy sauce
2 tablespoons dark soya sauce
1 tablespoon red food coloring
1 teaspoon five-spice powder
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon Chinese wine ( I suppose Sherry would do )

Instructions

1.In a bowl, mix together the fine sugar, light soy sauce, dark soya sauce, red food coloring, five-spice powder, sesame oil, and Chinese wine until well combined.
2.Add pork belly to the mixture and coat it well.
3.Cover the bowl and marinate for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator or overnight.
4.Preheat the oven to 200°C.
5.Line a roasting pan or baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the pork on top of it.
6.Roast it for about 30 minutes, flip the meat and roast for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the meat is cooked through.
7.Slice the meat into thin strips and serve it hot.
