Cadbury Creme Eggs have been an Easter tradition for over 50 years. These creamy fondant-filled chocolate eggs were first introduced in the UK in 1971 and have since become a beloved treat all over the world. Making your own Creme Eggs is a creative way to enjoy the Easter season and satisfy your sweet tooth. The recipe below is a homemade version of the classic Cadbury Creme Eggs that everyone can try.

Instructions

.In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the golden syrup, softened butter, salt, vanilla seeds (optional), and vanilla extract until well combined.
.Gradually add in the powdered sugar, mixing until a stiff but pliable dough forms.
.Divide the dough in half and add yellow food coloring to one half, kneading until the color is evenly distributed.
.Pinch off a small amount of the yellow dough and roll it into a small ball. Flatten the ball into a disk and place it on a lined baking sheet. Repeat with the rest of the yellow dough.
.Repeat the process with the white dough, creating slightly larger disks to cover the yellow centers.
.Freeze the eggs for 10-15 minutes until firm.
.Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in a heat-proof bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Stir until smooth.
.Dip each egg in the melted chocolate, using a fork or dipping tool to coat it completely. Place the coated egg on a lined baking sheet to set.
.Once the chocolate has hardened, decorate the eggs with any remaining melted chocolate or icing as desired.
