Ingredients

1 cup water
1/3 cup onion , finely chopped
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon parmesan cheese , grated
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 cups flour , all purpose
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon parmesan cheese , grated
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
This Herbed Onion Focaccia is a very traditional mix boasting a delicious onion herb topping which pairs wonderfully with its fluffy texture. Originating from Italy, focaccia is a Mediterranean flatbread, feels crisp outside and fluffy inside. It finds its use in a plethora of delicious recipes including paninis, crostini and bruschetta. Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, mix together water, onion, sugar, salt, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, basil, dill weed, pepper, and 1 cup flour.
2.Add in yeast and stir until dissolved, then add 2 more cups of flour.
3.Knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
4.Coat a baking sheet with olive oil and place the dough on top.
5.Use your fingers to press down the dough, then cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
6.Preheat oven to 400°F.
7.Mix together parmesan cheese, parsley flakes, salt, and pepper and sprinkle on top of the bread.
8.Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
