2 bay leaves
10 whole allspice

Instructions

1.In a large pot, boil the beef in beef stock with bay leaves, allspice, salt, and black pepper for about 1 hour.

3.Add sauerkraut and ham bone (or smoked ham chunks) to the beef stock, and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the sauerkraut is tender.
4.Add the beef cubes back into the pot, and simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
