Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs beef flank steak , cut into thin slices and pounded
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic ( crushed )
cooked rice noodles
1 teaspoon ginger ( julienned )
3 cloves garlic ( cut in halves )
2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 lb dry roasted peanuts ( smashed in mortar and pestle )
1 lb bean sprouts ( blanched in hot water )
1/2 head lettuce ( chopped )
1/2 cup basil
1/2 cup cilantro
1/2 cup mint

Instructions

1.Heat a wok on high heat. Add vegetable oil and swirl to coat. Add garlic and stir-fry for 10 seconds.
2.Add beef to the wok and cook for 1-2 minutes per side. Remove from the wok and set aside.
3.In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, water, sugar, salt, and ginger.
4.Using the same wok, heat up the leftover oil and garlic, then add in the soy sauce mixture and stir-fry for 10 seconds.
5.Return the beef to the wok and stir-fry until it is coated in the sauce.
6.Layer cooked rice noodles, bean sprouts, lettuce, basil, cilantro, and mint in a bowl. Top with beef and sauce. Garnish with smashed peanuts.
