Ingredients

4 sheets frozen puff pastry
1 onion
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon paprika
250 g lean ground beef
salt and pepper , to taste
1 egg , separated
4 slices uncooked ham
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Hamburger Strudel is a twist on the traditional Dutch snack of sausage rolls. It is essentially a spiced beef filling enclosed in a pastry case. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan.
2.Cut the onion into small pieces and fry them until they are translucent. Add the spices and fry for another minute.
3.Add the ground beef to the pan and brown it. Add salt and pepper to taste.
4.Roll out the puff pastry sheets, and brush them with the beaten egg white. Leave a 1cm border all around.
5.Arrange the uncooked ham on top of the egg-coated pastry. Divide the meat mixture between the four sheets, spreading it evenly.
6.Roll up the sheets tightly and brush the outside with the egg yolk. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
7.Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
