1 lb ham steak
1/2 cup asparagus tips , cooked
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons butter
1 pint milk , hot
1 pinch nutmeg
Ham Fresh Mushrooms and Asparagus Bechamel is a classic main dish that has been enjoyed for generations. Instructions

1.Melt ¾ cup butter in a pan.
2.Add 2 tablespoons flour and stir for a minute.
3.Add one pint of hot milk, stirring non-stop.
4.Add a teaspoon of salt, a pinch of nutmeg, a pinch of pepper, and keep stirring until the mixture starts to thicken.
5.Cut six slices of bread into cubes and toast in the oven.
6.Fry the mushrooms and ham steak in a separate pan with butter and season with salt and pepper.
7.When the Bechamel sauce is thick enough, add 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese, stir and set aside.
8.Arrange the toasted bread cubes in a baking dish and top with the fried mushroom and ham steak mixture, adding some cooked asparagus tips as well.
9.Pour the Bechamel sauce over the mixture and top everything with some more grated parmesan cheese.
10.Bake for 15 minutes at 350°F until the dish is golden brown.
